Ode To The One-Eyed Lady
First Edition
Richard Leslie greatly anticipated his getaway to the exotic coral island on the Belize Barrier Reef where his family awaited him. Yet, recurrent dreams of his recent unfaithfulness combined with a devious plot to steal his rights to the island, destroyed the beauty and serenity of the tropical splendor. Even more devastating was the hell soon to be unleashed upon him, his wife, and his children—the nightmare of horror of a grade five hurricane approaching bent upon crushing them.

The Eddy
First Edition
A collection of fifteen short stories, some based on Belizean themes, others dealing with issues of youth, life, death, sadness. These are stories that will touch your heart.
From The Eddy: They drew away from the crowd, and Dick squeezed his son's shoulders. "My son," he said, "Life is like an eddy . . ."
From Numero Uno: Kenrick closed his eyes. The pleasure was gone. Disbelief and uncertainty rapidly replaced it. When he opened his eyes again, Laura lee too was gone. The playhouse suddenly was not innocent and happy anymore, and the toys seemed to have receded into the darkness.
From A Blade Of Grass: Earl felt cold, and he trembled as the water embraced him; then, it was night. Moonbeams from the half-moon touched the surface of the black water. The rings had long ago calmed, and the fireflies were gone. All that remained was the solemnity of the transference and a blade of grass.

SISIMITO II - XIBALBA
The Second Book of the Sisimito Series
After much indecision, Molly decides to accept Chiac’s proposal of marriage. They will be married at Uch Ben Cah near Santa Cruz. Everything is prepared for the big day and friends and family from Belize City, army comrades, and villagers from all around are invited. The ceremony is filled with Maya traditions and beauty. Danger lurks, however, and just before the wedding vows are made, Sisimito and his Jungle Folk and Jungle Horde attack. There is great death and destruction and Molly is once again kidnapped.
The following morning, Chiac and his fireteam, including his father, leave Santa Cruz and follow Sisimito’s track through the jungle on a northwesterly route taking them towards the Chiquibul Forest area. Days later, as they are resting on a flood plain near a river, Sisimito and his Jungle Horde advances on them. A very disheveled Molly is with them. After a fierce encounter, the fireteam is forced to retreat into the river and seek refuge in a cave where a branch of the river takes them. They are forced deeper and deeper until they are drawn into a whirlpool where they accept their fate, that they will drown. When they regain consciousness, they are on the bank of a river, the River of Scorpions, in Xibalba, the whirlpool being a portal into Xibalba.
A great adventure begins as Chiac and his fireteam fight for their lives. Chiac is tried by the Death Gods, Hun-Came and Vucub-Came, and the ten Demon Lords of Xibalba. He is sentenced to the six Trial Houses in the Cavern of Trials. He must be able to survive each one. He and his fireteam must win as they battle for their lives in a game of pitz before the Xibalbans. Chiac knows that if he wants to rescue Molly, he not only has to survive, but to escape.
Chiac gets help from the Hero Twins, Hunahpu and Xbalanque, who are no friends of the Death Gods. There are also Warriors who wish to escape Xibalba and return to the Surface World. After strategic planning, intrigue, and a great battle on the banks of the River of Scorpions, they escape through that river and are back in the world of Sisimito and the Maya.

SISIMITO III - TOPOXTE
The Third Book of the Sisimito Series
After escaping Xibalba, Chiac, his fireteam, and the Warriors who escaped with him, have to make a long journey covering hundred of miles to reach Ox Witz Ha (Caracol). They emerged from the River of Scorpions at Ja’Xakanul (Water Volcano) near what is now Southwestern Guatemala, close to the Pacific Ocean. They, once again, face many dangers as they battle with Kingdoms not allied with Ox Witz Ha, survive volcanic explosions, floods, and earthquakes. They battle against the evil forces of Naj Tunich and Chiac faces death as he is injured by one of the rabid animals of the Warrie Massa as they advance on Ox Witz Ha. When Chiac and his Warriors do arrive at Ox Witz ha, it is only to find out that intelligence suggests that Sisimito and his Army of the Jungle Folk and Jungle Horde will attack the cities of K’aay, Paxte, and Topoxte, three islands in Lake Yaxha, Topoxte being the largest and where the Ruler resided. Intel also state that Molly will be there with Sisimito.
K’an II orders his army to fight Sisimito, but Naj Tunich is sending an army to attack Ox Witz Ha in retaliation for what Chiac did at Naj Tunich. K’an II, nevertheless, orders his army to advance on Topoxte. The Battle for Topoxte is one of the greatest battles in the Sisimito Series and thousands on both sides are killed. Sisimito is defeated, presumed dead, and Molly is rescued, but she does not appear to be Molly anymore.
Months later, when Molly is much better, she and Chiac return to the Sacred Waterfall and, using the portal, return to their world. Chiac is very upset for, at the last moment, he is advised by his father, and good friend and comrade, Teul, that they have decided to remain at Ox Witz Ha.
